High Road Creatives, in collaboration with Japan’s 034Productions, is set to release the much-anticipated film Crosspoint on October 16 in Philippine cinemas. The film stars acclaimed Filipino actor Carlo Aquino and Emmy-nominated Japanese actor Takehiro Hira, best known for his role in Shogun.

“We are incredibly proud to have both Carlo and Hira lead our film. Carlo is celebrated for his versatility in dramatic roles, while Hira, with his commanding screen presence, continues to rise in Hollywood. Together, they bring a dynamic energy that, alongside a compelling storyline, will elevate the cinematic experience for Filipino audiences. This film proves that we can deliver stories with a global appeal,” said Ravien Bracero, Producer and Founder of High Road Creatives.

Set predominantly in Japan, Crosspoint follows the journey of Manuel Hidalgo (played by Aquino), a once-famous celebrity struggling to make ends meet after his career hits a dry spell. In Tokyo, he survives as an undocumented performer in a Filipino pub, where he crosses paths with Shigeru Yamaguchi (played by Hira), a bankrupt construction company owner. The two men, both grappling with their own hardships, stumble upon a news report about a wanted serial killer with a large bounty. Desperation drives them to pursue the fugitive, hoping that the reward money will solve their problems.

Director Donie Ordiales shared that the characters were inspired by real people he met in Japan. He expressed pride in the international cast and crew who brought this story to life.

“The film carries an important message: nothing in life is permanent. At any moment, our circumstances can change dramatically, and Crosspoint explores the profound ways in which that happens.”

The film also features an impressive supporting cast, including Sarah Jane Abad, Kei Kurosawa, Ian de Leon, Zeppi Borromeo, Dindo Arroyo, and Polo Ravales.
